Investment migration — the rule, as checked 24.09.2026

No property route — and a purchase ban to 2027

Owning property in Canada confers no immigration status. Most non-Canadians are prohibited from buying residential property at all until 1 January 2027 under the Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act.

This jurisdiction in the register

13 records, 13 with a published page. Each record carries the facts this rule turns on — entry price, seller, and where the rule distinguishes them, first sale, fractional sale, construction status, tenure — each dated and sourced.

The register publishes the rule and the facts; it does not say whether any purchase qualifies. Eligibility attaches to a sale, not to a building, and the register is not immigration counsel. All jurisdictions →
