The Verification Standard
Four tiers, what each one claims, and what it takes to hold it.
The register states, on its own authority, what a residence is and what it is not. Every claim it makes rests on this Standard. A tier displayed without the process below having been completed is a false statement, and the register treats it as one. The Standard governs what evidence supports each tier and what happens when that evidence ages. It does not govern taste.
V0 · Registered
The residence exists, at this address, under this name.
Two independent published sources, cited on the record. No validity limit — existence does not expire.
V1 · Documented
Ownership, operation and insurance are what they are represented to be.
Title extract, operating or rental licence, operator agreement where a brand is claimed, certificate of insurance in force, corporate standing of the owning entity. A claimed brand affiliation that cannot be documented is removed from the record, not softened.
V2 · Inspected
The residence physically matches its record.
Physical inspection against the eight-chapter protocol. Findings bind the record: the record is corrected to match the residence, never the reverse. The Inspector holds no commercial relationship with the residence, its owner, operator or agent.
V3 · Verified Residence
The residence meets the full Standard and may display the mark.
V1 and V2 both current, plus a service assessment — an unannounced stay-test where the residence is offered for stay — and a representation-accuracy review of photography, plans and published claims. Signed off by a three-member Panel, one of whom has no role in the file.
Lapse
Verification ages automatically and nothing decays silently. V3 not re-verified within twelve months and ninety days reverts to V1 and the mark is withdrawn. V2 older than twenty-four months displays as V1. V1 documents older than twenty-four months display as V0. Every reversion is recorded in the record's history; the register does not delete its past.
A record below V0 has no page
Most of this register is below V0 — one published source or none. Those records are listed, counted and searchable, and they are given no page, because a page is a claim and there is nothing yet to claim. That is why the register is larger than the site.
Independence
Fees are charged for the process, never for the outcome: a failed verification is paid for like a passed one. No commission, referral or success fee is accepted from any residence, owner, operator, developer or agent. The register's relationship to any affiliated distribution business is disclosed here, affiliated inventory is verified by the same process by Inspectors with no role in that business, and it holds no priority of any kind. No Inspector conducts two consecutive verifications of the same residence.
Corrections
An owner or operator may dispute a finding within thirty days, in writing, with evidence; one Panel member reviewing it must not have sat on the original decision. Factual errors identified by anyone, at any time, are corrected and the correction is dated.
