Investment migration — the rule, as checked 24.09.2026

Residence permit above a threshold

Temporary residence for owning debt-free Mexican property worth over 40,000 times the daily reference unit, held in the applicant's name.

Most applicants qualify instead on income (about USD 4,400 a month) or savings (about USD 74,000), which is why the property route is rarely used.

Where the sources disagree

The floor is read as 40,000 times the UMA (about MXN 4.69 million) by some consulates and 40,000 times the minimum wage (about MXN 10.76 million) by others; dollar figures published for 2026 run from USD 185,000 to USD 700,000.

One guide states that real-estate equity does not count as solvency.

This jurisdiction in the register

14 records, 10 with a published page. Each record carries the facts this rule turns on — entry price, seller, and where the rule distinguishes them, first sale, fractional sale, construction status, tenure — each dated and sourced.

The register publishes the rule and the facts; it does not say whether any purchase qualifies. Eligibility attaches to a sale, not to a building, and the register is not immigration counsel. All jurisdictions →
