Rosewood Residences Lido Key
Lido Key, United States. Rosewood. Sixty-five residences on a barrier island off Sarasota — and the brand's first standalone project, depending which year you ask.
Rosewood has called two different buildings its first standalone residence. The 2021 release announcing Lido Key says so in plain words. By 2024 the brand's head of residential development describes Beverly Hills as the debut. Both statements are Rosewood's own. The register carries the sequence — Lido Key announced first in September 2021, Beverly Hills opened first — and does not adjudicate the word.
The site was assembled rather than found: The Ronto Group bought the thirty-four-unit Coquina on the Beach hotel for $15 million and replaced it with a sixty-five-unit condominium on 3.89 acres, a short walk from St Armands Circle. Wheelock Street Capital co-developed. Reservations opened December 2021 against a stated 2025 completion.
A standalone branded residence is a different animal from a hotel-linked one, and this register's service axis separates them: there is no Rosewood hotel here and never will be. What the buyer purchases is the brand's service platform installed in a condominium — which is why the operator's name matters more, not less.
Who it is not for
Not for a buyer expecting a hotel downstairs: there is none, and the amenity is the building's own. Not for anyone who wants a settled address — Lido Key is a barrier island and this is the first branded residence on it.
