Montage Big Sky sells the same mountain three different ways, and the register was recording one of them. Thirty-nine Lodge Residences in whole ownership, from $5m to $18.6m at launch. Fifteen Mountain Homes, announced and fully pre-sold in 2022. And thirty-two Inn Residences in deeded quarter shares from $1.5m. Three products, three tenures, one address — all three are now separate records.
The Lodge Residences are two to six bedrooms, roughly 2,300 to just over 8,000 square feet, above the hotel inside the 3,530-acre Spanish Peaks Mountain Club, with ski-in and ski-out to Big Sky Resort's 5,800 acres and an optional Montage rental programme. Construction began 2018; the resort opened for the 2021/22 season.
The guestroom count disagrees with itself. Montage's own pages say 139 rooms and suites; two development records say 150. A number published by the operator and contradicted by the developer, on a building both of them built.
Who it is not for
Not for a buyer who has not established which product they are buying: whole ownership, a pre-sold mountain home and a quarter share are marketed under one name here. Not for anyone who wants the resort to themselves — the residences sit above a working hotel and its five restaurants.
