This is the oldest hotel-branded residence in the register. Completed in 2001 — four years before the One Hyde Park site was bought, eight before Armani opened inside the Burj Khalifa, thirteen before Aman committed to New York. The category the register documents was already being built here while most of its records did not yet exist as ideas.

San Francisco is the eighth billionaire city in the world and this is the register's first record in it. The gap was found by the same rich-list cross-check that produced Mumbai, and the answer in both cases was a Four Seasons that had been standing for years.

Not for a buyer expecting new construction: this is a 2001 building and its case is location and a service contract that has run for two decades. Not for anyone who wants the brand as owner — the hotel's owner of record is a private equity firm.
