Where Aman began. Amanpuri opened on Phuket's west coast in 1988 and took in private villas of its own; the homes to own stand above Pansea Beach at the tip of the peninsula — free-standing pavilions of three to ten bedrooms with private pools and sunken dining salas, built of local materials, minutes from the resort's black infinity pool and beach club.
The reports named it by the resort's name alone, without a country; the register places it in Phuket and holds it as villas. No count of the villas to own, price or title is published in the sources consulted; an industry account says Aman owners hold freehold or leasehold according to the site and may enrol their house in the resort's rental programme.
