Two pages of the same development name two different licensees. The project's own site says PBLH, LLC holds the Montage marks; the resort's site says Palmetto Bluff Company, LLC does. Both are South Carolina companies, both are stated as the licensee, and the register carries both rather than assuming they are one party wearing two names. In a business where the brand is rented, who exactly rents it is not a detail.
Thirty-five fully furnished two- to five-bedroom houses in the shadow of the Montage resort — Lowcountry architecture, screened porches, Carolina rooms with fireplaces — with turnkey occupancy and Montage caretaking while the owner is away. Eight further homes by Palmetto Bluff Builders were announced to join the enclave.
The licence text is identical to Healdsburg's, word for word: limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, terminable, and on termination no part of the resort may be identified as Montage. A standard clause repeated across a portfolio is more informative than a bespoke one — it tells you this is how the brand does business, not how one deal was struck.
Who it is not for
Not for a buyer who wants a coastal address: this is river country, twenty thousand acres inland of Hilton Head, and the water is the May. Not for anyone who needs to know their counterparty from the marketing — the licensee is named two ways across two official sites.
