A crystal house of 260 years is building a hundred-and-eleven-acre resort on five islands, and the register had no record of it. Baccarat appeared here five times — Riyadh, Dubai, New York, Miami, Saadiyat — and not once in the Indian Ocean. It was found by asking rather than by scanning, which is the honest account of how the gap closed.
Around fifty hotel villas sit alongside private residences for sale, with seven seven-bedroom mansions on a secluded peninsula reached by pontoon. Design by 1508 London with HKS Architects; operation by SH Hotels & Resorts under the Baccarat brand. The operator is not the brand, and the register records both — a configuration that recurs wherever a maison licenses its name to a hospitality manager.
Tenure is not established, and one broker page goes further than the register will follow. It states that buyers of any nationality may purchase and may obtain Maldivian residency. Maldivian law bars foreign freehold; whatever instrument makes that claim true is not published, and the register does not repeat a legal assertion it cannot see the document for. Soneva, two atolls north, sells the same country on renewable leasehold and says so.
Who it is not for
Not for a buyer who wants the ownership question answered today: the structure is unpublished in a jurisdiction where it is the first thing to establish. Not for anyone who wants a finished resort — this opens in 2027 and every figure below is a plan.
