The Maybourne Saint-Germain Residences

Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris. Maybourne. Twenty-three homes in the old defence ministry, with a hotel of 101 rooms.

Editorial entry · sources recorded · property confirmation pending

The French defence ministry's old block, turned into homes. Maybourne — of Claridge's and The Connaught — is converting the seventeenth-century Îlot Saint-Germain on the Rive Gauche into a 101-key hotel and 23 residences for 2027: seven drawn by Pierre-Yves Rochon on Rue Saint-Dominique and sixteen by Laura Gonzalez on Rue de l'Université, with a private 25-metre pool and access to Surrenne, the group's longevity club.

Whether they are the first branded residences in Paris depends on who is asked: Maybourne's release says they are; a design magazine calls the scheme one of the city's first. The register records both and takes no side. The reports named it without a country.

Who it is not for

Not for a buyer who wants to move in soon: the opening is scheduled for 2027.

23.09.2026 · No country given, run 5 — a Medici palace sold in eighths, and a defence ministry turned into homes

Palazzo Tornabuoni in Florence is a fifteenth-century Medici palace restored over five years into 38 residences run by Four Seasons — Italy's first private residence club, where members bought one-eighth fractions before 18 whole-ownership homes were released at EUR 1.6 to 5.1 million. The Maybourne Saint-Germain turns the seventeenth-century Îlot Saint-Germain, long the French defence ministry's headquarters, into a 101-key hotel and 23 residences for 2027, drawn by Pierre-Yves Rochon and Laura Gonzalez.
