Shanghai holds a hundred and twenty billionaires and ranked third in the world, and this register held nothing there. The place had been in the atlas for weeks with zero records against it. That is the second of the nine billionaire-city gaps to close, and it closed on a maison rather than a hotel brand.
Bvlgari Residences occupy a tower on the bank of Suzhou Creek inside the SUHE CREEK complex, with the eighty-two-room Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai on the top eight floors and a Bvlgari Spa beneath.
The house disagrees with itself about its own building. Bvlgari's hotel page describes a forty-eight-storey tower; a Bvlgari-associated project page describes forty storeys. The spa is 2,000 square metres in one and 1,925 in the other. Two numbers for one building, both published by the same brand — which is the ordinary condition of this market and the reason the register writes conflicts down instead of resolving them.
Who it is not for
Not for a buyer who wants the numbers settled before they visit: the storey count is contested in the brand's own material. Not for anyone who wants a waterfront in the maritime sense — Suzhou Creek is a river through the city, and the view is the Bund and Pudong.
