111 West 57th Street
Billionaires' Row, New York. The world's slenderest skyscraper — sixty homes in 435 metres of terracotta and bronze.
The slenderest skyscraper in the world, and one of the emptiest by design: 435 metres of glazed terracotta and bronze by SHoP Architects above Steinway Hall of 1925, holding just 60 homes — 46 full-floor or duplex residences in the tower with fourteen-foot ceilings, and 14 pre-war apartments in the restored hall, all with interiors by Studio Sofield. Built by JDS, PMG and Spruce Capital for some USD 2 billion and finished in 2022.
Prices rose as it was built: USD 18 to 57 million at launch in 2018, USD 7.75 to 66 million by opening. The reports named it by its address alone, without a country; it carries no brand, and the register holds it as a landmark residence.
Who it is not for
Not for a buyer who dislikes movement: the tower's slenderness is felt at height.

23.09.2026 · No country given, run 3 — New York's pattern-setter, its slenderest tower, and London's first hotel-less Four Seasons
Three more countryless names, all famous enough that the reports left off where they stand. The Sherry-Netherland of 1927 made the Manhattan template: a hotel converted in 1954–55 into 165 cooperative homes above a 50-room hotel, three years before The Pierre and fifteen before The Carlyle. 111 West 57th Street is the world's slenderest skyscraper, 435 metres holding sixty homes, whose prices ranged from USD 18–57 million at launch to 7.75–66 million at opening.
