The Knightsbridge
199 Knightsbridge. Two hundred-odd flats around a garden square, finished in 2005 — the building that proved the street before any brand arrived on it.
The building that made the postcode a market. The Knightsbridge at 195–199 Knightsbridge was completed in 2005 to a Squire & Partners design: 191 apartments, seven penthouses marketed as the Crown Jewels and seven mews houses around a private garden square, with a spa, pool, business centre, valet and round-the-clock concierge. It arrived six years before One Hyde Park two hundred metres west and before Bulgari put a hotel next door, and the prices it set are what the later towers were priced against.
It carries no brand, and the register holds it for that reason. The service that a branded residence sells — spa, valet, concierge — is here without a name over the door; Buildington records it as provided by Hyatt, which is a service contract and not a licence, and the difference is exactly what this register exists to state. The sources also disagree about the building: 205 homes by the component counts against 201 in the encyclopaedic account, and the developer is given as Knight Dragon in one place and as an individual in another. The register records 205 and both developers, because a 2005 building has had more than one owner and neither source says which stage it is describing.
One refused application is worth the line. In 2017 an owner who had bought a flat for GBP 15 million in 2006 and the one beside it for GBP 90 million sought to combine them into a ten-bedroom penthouse reported at GBP 200 million. Westminster City Council refused.
Who it is not for
Not for a buyer who wants an operator on the hook: there is no brand here and the service is a contract, not a covenant.

Investment migration — the facts the rule turns on
The rule for United Kingdom: No property route — checked 24.09.2026.
The register publishes the facts and the rule; it does not say whether any purchase qualifies. Eligibility attaches to a sale, not to a building, and the register is not immigration counsel.
