Cherry Hill

This house was chosen over more expensive ones, and the reason is the whole argument of the register. Cherry Hill carries an architect — Oliver Hill, 1930s modernism — a period, a recognisable language, a history of use as the country residence of the American ambassador John Hay Whitney, and a documented restoration. About 14,506 square feet on roughly 4.1 acres on Portnall Drive. A register that admits houses on price alone is a listings aggregator; this one admits them under §11 and says which limb.

The ask history is a lesson in what an ask is. Country Life quoted £24 million in March 2024. Savills quotes £15 million now. That is a 37.5 per cent reduction over roughly two years — and it is not evidence of a fall in value, and it is certainly not a sale. The register records both asks and the gap, in the field for asks.

Club access reads *within an estate holding a club, no rights recorded*. Wentworth Club is inside the estate. Nothing published establishes that rights of use convey with this house — and a view of a course, or even an agent's claim of direct access, is not membership. The register added the axis today for exactly this distinction.
