InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa

Douglas Bay, inside a national park. Opened 2019 under one marque and reflagged to another in 2023 — which this register did not notice for three years.

Editorial entry · sources recorded · property confirmation pending

The register carried the wrong brand on this record for three years, and the brand is the thing its codes hang on. The resort opened in October 2019 as Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski. IHG announced the reflagging in February 2023 and it reopened that spring as InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa. The developer's own page now names only InterContinental — Kempinski survives on it in image filenames. This record said Kempinski, and cited `LHL-R-067`, until today.

Nothing in the chain could have caught it. `brand_guard` checks that one marque has one spelling and one code across every row, and it was right on both: the register spelled Kempinski consistently and cited Kempinski's code consistently. A guard that enforces internal agreement cannot see a property change hands — and the Dominica citizenship unit's own site is stale in the same way, still naming “Cabrits Resort Kempinski” as the first Dominican real estate project approved under its programme.

What is actually there. 151 rooms and suites on Douglas Bay, inside Cabrits National Park, the second of the four resorts Range Developments has built in the Eastern Caribbean and the first in Dominica. The figure is the developer's and is corroborated by trade press; IHG's own page publishes no total, only eight room categories.

Who it is not for

Not for a buyer looking for Kempinski: that marque left in 2023 and this register was three years late to say so.

The register publishes the facts and the rule; it does not say whether any purchase qualifies. Eligibility attaches to a sale, not to a building, and the register is not immigration counsel.
